English Guide to Sapporo Municipal Central Library

The Sapporo Municipal Central Library is closed for renovation purposes from August 7, 2017 until March 31, 2018. During this time, a temporary office is in place in the parking area next to the library building, where some library services (details below) are available.

At the temporary office, you may:

*Pick up items on hold. Please note that all materials in the open/closed stacks of the Central Library should be placed on hold due to repair work limitations. You can place a hold via the online library service and choose any location to pick up your items.

*Return materials. Users can return books borrowed from any library to the temporary office. Please use the book drop when the office is closed.

*Renew your loans. Bring your materials and library card and inquire at the temporary office. You can also renew borrowed materials via your online library account.

*Reserve a browsing seat. To inspect any non-loanable materials, please call 011-512-7355 to make a reservation before you come to the temporary office. One-hour time limit per person. (In order for us to have time to prepare the materials, please call us at least one day in advance.)

The opening hours of the temporary office are the same as regular opening hours.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
