Tickets

 One-day tickets (Subway)

One-Day Ticket for Subway Use

This is a money-saving pass that allows unlimited rides on subway trains for the whole day.

Adults: 830 yen; children: 420 yen

Sales points: subway ticket-vending machines, commuter pass sales offices and other places

Donichika Ticket (One-day Subway Pass for Weekends and Holidays)

This is a one-day pass that can be used for the subway on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and year-end/New Year holidays (Dec. 29 – Jan. 3).

Adults: 520 yen; children: 260 yen

Sales points: subway ticket-vending machines, commuter pass sales offices and other place

 IC cards

SAPICA IC Card

This card can be used for municipal subway/streetcar systems, JR Hokkaido Buses, Jotetsu Buses and Hokkaido Chuo Buses. Just touch the reader on subway ticket gates or streetcar/bus fare boxes with the card for speedy payment. The card can be recharged for continued usage.

・ SAPICA Open IC Card

This card is for adults, and is transferable among users.
Price: 2,000 yen (1,500 yen usable for transportation plus a 500-yen deposit※)

・ SAPICA Registered IC Card

This card is for the exclusive use of the person whose name it bears. Registration of the user’s name, date of birth, gender and telephone number is required.

Purchases of SAPICA IC Cards for children require the presentation of a formal document proving the child’s identity (e.g., a health insurance card).

Lost cards can be reissued for a handling charge of 500 yen and a deposit of 500 yen※

Price: 2,000 yen (1,500 yen usable for transportation plus a 500-yen deposit※)
※The deposit is collected at the time of SAPICA IC Card purchase to discourage one-time usage and disposal. The deposit cannot be used to pay for transportation, and will be refunded when the card is returned.

Other IC cards usable on municipal and other transportation systems

In addition to SAPICA Cards, travelers can also use Kitaca, Suica, PASMO, manaca, TOICA, PiTaPa, ICOCA, Hayakaken, nimoca and SUGOCA IC cards for the city’s municipal transportation systems (subway and streetcar), JR Hokkaido Buses, Jotetsu Buses and Hokkaido Chuo Buses.
