Sapporo Clock Tower Illuminating Collection Box 

Summary

The collection box was modelled in collaboration with Hokusho University’s Department of Art. It is a 1/50 scale model of the actual building as of 1889. When coins or notes are inserted into the slots of the pedestal, the model is illuminated. The light pattern programmed by students is controlled with Arduino, a device small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

Donation Use

Donations to this collection box will be transferred to Sapporo City’s Cultural Arts Promotion Fund to be used for the repair and renewal of the Sapporo Clock Tower’s exhibits.
