Trial Run of AI translator ”Pocketalk® W”

Project outline

Japan is seeing an increase in the number of foreign tourists. In order to facilitate smooth communication at service windows and provide better customer service, the Sapporo City Transportation Bureau has placed a hand-held AI-powered translation device “Pocketalk® W” at window of the Sapporo Subway Station. Placement of additional translation devices will be considered after testing it out with visitors, particular international tourists, at this initial location.
