Special Cash Payment Application Method

The Application Deadline was on August 25, 2020 (Tuesday).

What is the Special Cash Payment?

The Japanese government will provide 100,000 yen per person to those who are listed on the basic resident register to support household finances as an emergency economic measure for COVID-19.

 

Eligible Recipients: Those who are recorded in the basic resident register as of April 27th, 2020.

※Foreigners residents are also eligible for this benefit. However, short-term residents and undocumented residents are not eligible for benefits.

Applicant and Recipient: The head of the household.

Benefit amount:100,000 yen for each person who is eligible for the benefit

Benefit Period: After the end of May, the payment will be made in the order that applications were received.

Application deadline: Tuesday, August 25, 2020

Terms of Consent: Please submit your application after agreeing to the following terms

  • In order to confirm eligibility, confirmation shall be made with the official records held by the municipality.
  • If eligibility cannot be confirmed by the official records, etc., the submission of relevant documents is required. In addition, we may ask other municipalities to verify your residence.
  • If the transfer is not completed due to incomplete or incorrect account information or other reasons and the municipality is unable to contact or confirm with the applicant (or a proxy) by the application deadline, the application shall be deemed to have been withdrawn.
  • In the event that a person has received another Special Cash Payment from another municipality in duplicate, they must complete a refund.
  • If a member of the household other than the head of the household recorded in the basic resident register is found to be receiving the Special Cash Payment for any reasons, they must complete a refund.

・Residence Card ・Passport・Japanese Driver's license・Japanese National Health insurance card・My Number Card, etc

Attachment (2) A copy of the bank account to which the money will be transferred (one of the following)

・Passbook ・Cash card ・Internet banking screen

 

6.Attach the Attachments to the “Special Cash Payment Application” form

The attachment sheet can be found on the back of the "Example Application for the Special Cash Payment".

 7.Put the application form and the attached attachments in the return envelope.

Write your address and name on the back of the envelope.
