SCIPH-Food Chemistry Division

The Food Chemistry Division tests for food additives and residual agricultural chemicals and develops new analytical methods to ensure food safety.

 General examination service

General examination services include tests for various food products, including: ingredient standards testing for meat products, milk, dairy products, and soft drinks; testing for residual chemicals in agricultural products and residual synthetic antibacterial agents in meat; testing for food additives such as artificial preservatives and sweeteners; and testing for radioactivity in foods imported from Europe. In addition, the division tests household goods, including textiles and cleaning agents, for toxicity levels.

Research and Investigation

The division develops testing methods for newly regulated substances, and it researches multi-ingredient analysis methods to accelerate residual agricultural chemical testing. Additionally, it is involved in a food additives intake study in cooperation with the National Institute of Health Sciences
