SCIPH-International Cooperation

As part of the international cooperation work being carried out in Sapporo City, the institute has been offering one training courses, "Neonatal Screening" . This program is run under the auspices of a technical training program organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Training course for Neonatal Screening for Congenital Hypohtyroidism and Phenylketonuria

The goals of this training course are to enhance the participants' technical knowledge and skills and to deepen their understanding of neonatal and infantile screening. Lectures and laboratory practice on phenylketonuria and congenital hypothyroidism are a part of the two-month program. After completing the training, participants are suitably qualified to play a major role in establishing and expanding neonatal screening systems in their home countries. The institute has also been suppling additional information and advisory services to ex-participants on requests.
