How to check emergency alerts in foreign languages

Early Warning “Area Mail” (If your smartphone carrier DOCOMO)

docomo application*The ”Docomo Disaster Kit” application must be installed in advance if you use an Android mobile operating system (OS). Except for some models, the Docomo Disaster Kit app is preinstalled.

  How to check early warning alerts

Open the Docomo Disaster Kit app, click on “early warning ‘Area Mail.’” Once you choose the desired message from the displayed early warning messages and press either the “Translate” button ① or the “Other apps” button, an automatic translation message will appear under the Japanese message. (Name of item will be displayed in Japanese). If you use the translation button once, from there on out translations will appear underneath the Japanese versions of area mail.

How to change language of the automatic translation

  Press the “translate”(翻訳)button on the bottom right side of the screen. Select the desired language and press the “translate” button once again. Please note, if you’re the language settings on your smartphone are set to Japanese and the “translate”(翻訳)button does not appear, press the button on the top right side of the Area Mail screen, select “settings” (設定), and then mark box for “translate/app settings” (翻訳・アプリ連携設定).
